Im not sure about you, but sometimes I go through these rampages on the internet looking for creative ideas, yummy recipes, and fitness regimes. It gets a bit ridiculous sometimes…but sometimes I come across some pretty amazing blogs. While on this rampage of “something” searching I stumbled across this website, by Candy Chang. Browsing around her website, she shows you all these amazing projects she’s done. My favourite is “Before I Die”.
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget what really matters to you. When Candy lost someone she loved very much, the experience helped clarify her life but she struggled to maintain perspective. She wanted to know what was important to the people around her. So with help from old and new friends, she turned the side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood in New Orleans into a giant chalkboard and stenciled it with the sentence “Before I die I want to _______.” so anyone walking by can pick up a piece of chalk, reflect on their lives, and share their personal aspirations in public space.
It’s truly amazing to see the whole community come together and participate, and how she evolved from something to dark. The power of a dream and and an idea from simply stating a statement. Take a look at her page, she’s done some amazing work.Images: http://candychang.com/
